Vintage KIG Indonesia amber glass salad bowl in the Fan & Stars pattern — made in Indonesia, 1980s–1990s.

Made by Kedaung Industrial Group (KIG), Indonesia's pioneering glass tableware manufacturer. The Fan & Stars pattern — also known as Crosshatch Fan Stars — features a large central starburst on the base surrounded by diamond-shaped panels and fanned edges. A beautiful warm amber pressed glass piece, ideal as a fruit bowl, salad bowl, or decorative centrepiece.

Kedaung Industrial Group (KIG) was founded in 1969 by Agus Nursalim and three partners from Medan, North Sumatra — originally as an importer of glass tableware before transitioning into manufacturing. In 1969 they established Indonesia's first glass tableware manufacturing plant. Throughout the 1970s the business expanded rapidly across Jakarta, Surabaya, and Semarang. By the 1980s — when this bowl was likely produced — KIG had grown from a local start-up into a global powerhouse exporting to over 132 countries.
