Copper Décor: Mid-Century Copper Spun Brandy Goblets, 2

Bring rich metallic gravity and warm mid-century style directly into your space with this striking pair of vintage spun copper footed goblets.

Masterfully formed in the classic silhouette of oversized brandy balloon snifters, each goblet features a generous, bulbous bowl supported by a short, flared pedestal stem and a wide circular foot rim. The exterior showcases the highly reflective brilliance of solid copper sheet metal, while the interior wells are finished with a contrasting dark protective wash. Ideal for creating an instantly cohesive layout, these metallic vessels look spectacular repurposed as distinctive desktop catchalls, mid-century cocktail bar ice chillers, or unique metallic candle holders styled on modern sideboards.

Mid-century household brass and copperware surged across South African interiors during the 1960s and 1970s, celebrated for bringing an organic, reflective warmth to popular timber furniture styles like teak and blackwood. The continuous horizontal micro-lines visible on the surface confirm these goblets were crafted using traditional metal spinning, a specialized technique where a flat disk of copper sheet is rotated rapidly on a lathe while a technician forces it over a solid steel mandrel template. The underside of each foot rim features a rolled edge over a concealed iron weight ring, a functional manufacturing trait engineered to lower the centre of gravity and prevent top-heavy decorative arrangements from tipping over.

Intended Use: Repurposed interior styling vessels, ornamental mantle displays, or seasonal table service centrepiece accents. Alternate Styling Suggestions: Unique desktop catchalls, mid-century cocktail bar ice chillers, or distinctive tealight/pillar candle holders arranged as eye-catching table centerpieces.
