Cutlery Boxed: Antique Art Deco Master Hostess Serving Set

Silver Plated Antique Art Deco Patisserie Dessert Serving Set — 3 Pieces in Original Case.

A breathtakingly beautiful and highly prized 3-piece antique Art Deco silver-plated master hostess serving set, presented in its original custom-fitted display case. This exceptional collection comprises one large pastry/cake server blade, one broad four-tine cold meat or salad serving fork, and one deep scalloped salad/berry serving spoon.

Each piece features a magnificent highly stylized Art Deco openwork handle tip displaying streamlined vertical pillars and symmetrical geometric cut-outs that perfectly define the glamour of the 1930s era. The front display faces of the handles, the server blade, and the inner bowl of the serving spoon are decorated with beautiful crisp bright-cut floral vine engravings that reflect room light spectacularly.

Safely nested within its original hinged presentation box lined with ruched white bridal silk and a deep black velvet base tray. The exterior is bound in high-grade textured dark faux-leather with clean perimeter stitching and original functional brass hook clasps.

Original Intended Use: Grand formal table service for portioning gateaux, cakes, pastries, cold meats, and fruit salads.

Alternate Suggested Use: A high-end styling display for luxury wedding receptions, fine-art catering props, or statement serving pieces for upscale charcuterie and gourmet cheese displays.

More Details

This master set is the ultimate addition to a vintage holiday dining line, a sophisticated high-tea display, or an upscale milestone anniversary gift.

Did you Know?

Did you know that the distinct openwork cut-out design on these handles is one of the most sought-after variations among Art Deco flatware collectors? It requires an extra stage of precision die-stamping and hand-filing during production, marking it as a premium line rather than a standard solid-pattern release.

The crisp "EPNS" stamp on the reverse stems stands for Electroplated Nickel Silver, which was the elite standard for durable early-20th-century hotel and residential tableware. The nickel-brass base alloy gives the utensils a heavy, balanced hand-feel, while the pure silver outer layer develops a deep, liquid-like patina that modern stainless steel can never mimic.

Origin & Era

Made in United Kingdom, Circa 1930s.
