Prints & Etchings: Meeting at the Three Pigeons, Framed Print After Heywood Hardy

This is a vintage commercial print reproduction of the classic English coaching scene by Heywood Hardy, depicting horses, hounds, and figures gathered outside a traditional country inn.

The piece is mounted with a dark forest green mat board border inside an exceptionally heavy, substantial solid wood frame with inner gilt detailing, presenting a large-scale decorative option that carries considerable weight and makes a solid visual statement on a traditional study, library, or hallway wall.

Heywood Hardy (English, 1843-1933) was an artist highly regarded for his nineteenth-century British sporting life artwork, equestrian portraits, and coaching scenes.

This piece is a standard 20th-century lithographic colour print reproduction, framed for residential interior decoration. The reverse is sealed with standard hardboard backing, secured with industrial framing staples, and finished with brown paper backing tape showing distinct signs of age and shelf wear.

Original Intended Use: Wall Décor. Alternate Suggested Use: Statement Artwork For Traditional Mantels.

Each piece is researched with care and supported by comprehensive historical notes drawn from available sources, comparative analysis, and archival references. Approximate Dimensions

Length 102cm, Height 78cm, Width 2cm, Extremely Heavy.

Shipping & Collection Note From Ina: I explored courier delivery for this piece using an estimated padded box size of 132cm × 108cm × 32cm. The estimated delivery cost was R600–R800, and the courier advised that insurance would not be available due to its size. Given its substantial frame and existing glass damage, I have chosen to offer this piece for collection by appointment only. Please contact me directly to arrange a suitable time.

Vintage Condition

Fair vintage condition with notable age-related wear.

Visible Flaws: The piece is notably heavy due to its combined large wooden frame, thick backing, and remaining glass structures; the glass remains over the main print area, with only a corner section missing at the lower left; the wooden frame shows standard surface scuffs and scratches; the paper backing displays historic water staining and peripheral tears.
