High Tea: Midwinter Magnolia Pedestal Cake Stand

An exceptional, show-stopping Midwinter Pedestal Cake Stand — Magnolia Pattern.

An original 1960s W.R. Midwinter Ltd pedestal cake stand (historically known as a comport or tazza) showcasing the iconic and highly collectible "Magnolia" floral pattern. The platter features the celebrated "Stylecraft Fashion" soft-square coupe shape with gently rounded corners, beautifully displaying hand-painted style pink magnolia blossoms with charcoal accents and olive-green foliage against a smooth rich cream glazed background, mounted on a dramatic chrome trumpet pedestal base.

A gorgeous addition to a mid-century modern breakfast bar, a stunning feature for a retro tea cart, or a high-return centrepiece for an executive vintage shop shelf.

Original Intended Use: Grand table presentation and service for whole multi-layer sponge cakes, high-tea pastries, scones, and tarts.

More Details

Pedestal cake comports with factory-mounted chrome bases are vastly harder to find than standard tiered cake stands with a wire centre handle.

Roy Midwinter collaborated with specialized post-war British metal workshops to create these weighted, chrome-plated trumpet stands, offering stylish households a more dramatic presentation line for dinner hosting.

Did you Know?

Did you know that the "6-64" code on the backstamp dates this exact piece precisely to June 1964?

Midwinter implemented these specific numerical stamps as a precise factory quality control tracking method, which provides modern collectors with ironclad proof of origin.
