This is 3 of 3 Pieces by the same Artist. Be sure to secure this if you want the combined set.

This impressive original mid-century oil landscape illustrates a pair of traditional whitewashed rural homesteads standing under clusters of mature native trees.

Executed with a heavy, multi-layered impasto texture and distinct palette knife work, the composition features a vibrant blue doorway accent that catches the eye amid earthy terrain. A light, airy sky forms a balanced backfield, casting a bright afternoon ambiance across the entire rural architecture.

Style this beautifully framed piece on a wooden study shelf, within an eclectic entryway gallery arrangement, or atop an antique sideboard easel to introduce historic character and rich painterly depth into a modern living room.

Original Intended Use: Premium residential wall art and private gallery decoration. Alternate Suggested Use: Statement mantle vignette focal piece or independent desktop easel display.

Original Mid-Century modern impressionist country homestead oil painting.
Highly textured painterly style displaying thick impasto and distinctive palette marking.
Depicts a classic South African landscape scene featuring traditional rural cottages.
Housed in its era-appropriate multi-tiered gilt wood frame with linen fabric matting.
Distinctly signed by the artist in the lower-left register.

Small-scale original oils by independent South African artists are becoming heavily sought after by contemporary designers. Their compact dimensions and highly textured surfaces allow them to be styled effortlessly inside modern, minimalist built-in shelving units or narrow gallery columns without crowding the room layout.

Made in South Africa, circa 1980s, making this oil painting 36+ years old.

Each piece is researched with care and supported by comprehensive historical notes drawn from available sources, comparative analysis, and archival references. While I am not a certified appraiser or authentication specialist, my attributions reflect careful independent research and may be refined as new evidence emerges. These notes are offered to enrich understanding and appreciation of each item, rather than as formal guarantees of age, provenance, or authenticity.

Height 24cm, Width 28cm, Depth 4.5cm (Frame Outer Dimensions).

Good vintage condition.

Visible Flaws: The outer gilt frame shows age-appropriate wear, including a distinct 5mm chip down to the raw wood base on the upper velvet/matted recess moulding, and minor scuff marks on the corner joints. The canvas board features light, natural surface patina, and the inner fabric mat insert displays mild historical dust tracking along the margins.
