This original 1960s mid-century stoneware milk pitcher showcases the iconic, deeply saturated cobalt blue "Anemone" pattern hand-painted on a signature grey-white stoneware base.

Designed by ceramic pioneer Ulla Procopé, the heavy vitrified body features bold, fluid floral brushstrokes applied over a rich, glassy glaze that catches the ambient room lighting beautifully. The structural form is anchored by a sturdy D-shaped integrated handle and a crisp, drip-free pouring spout, demonstrating premier Scandinavian functionalism. 

Arabia Finland's "Anemone" series stands as a globally recognized benchmark of mid-century Scandinavian studio pottery, celebrating the integration of thick, robust stoneware with hand-applied artisanal detailing. The distinctive glaze application involved paint-decoration directly onto unglazed bisqueware before applying a protective clear overglaze, creating a permanent, scratch-proof layer that locks in the deep iron-and-cobalt blue pigmentation.

This example features the authentic hand-painted underglaze signature "ARABIA MADE IN FINLAND" alongside the professional artist initials "R/AT" in deep indigo script on the unglazed base ring.
