Vintage Corning Visions Ware 2.5L amber glass casserole dish with lid.

Part of the iconic Visions line developed by Corning Glass, this amber glass-ceramic casserole is one of the most recognisable pieces of mid-century modern cookware. Made from transparent Pyroceram — highly resistant to thermal shock, allowing it to go directly from freezer to stovetop without cracking.

Safe for gas, electric, and ceramic stovetops, as well as conventional and microwave ovens. Non-reactive material containing no lead or harmful metals. The lid is also made of Pyroceram and can be flipped over for use as a cooking surface or serving dish.

Corning Visions Ware was introduced in the 1970s as a revolutionary see-through cookware line — the first of its kind that could go directly from freezer to stovetop. The distinctive amber colour comes from the addition of titanium dioxide during the Pyroceram manufacturing process. French-made Visions pieces are considered the premium tier by collectors, prized for their denser construction and superior clarity compared to later American-made versions.
