Coloured Glass: Emerald Green Decorative Carafe

Because this is an unmarked vintage piece, the exact origin is uncertain — but the cased glass technique and lightweight construction point to one of three historic mid-century glass regions. Empoli, Tuscany (Italy) was the global capital for export decorative glassware in the 1960s–70s, producing lightweight cased carafes for international home décor markets. Scandinavian factories like Holmegaard (Denmark) and Alsterfors (Sweden) were equally famous for elongated, architectural long-neck vessels in cased glass. Japanese workshops of the 1970s also precisely reproduced these European silhouettes for export — all three regions relied on removable paper or foil stickers that rarely survived the first wash.
