Chinese Famille Rose “Thousand Flora” Medallion Display Plate.

A vintage Chinese porcelain display plate featuring a central medallion with hand-painted court figures in a traditional landscape. The wide rim is completely blanketed by a multi-coloured, dense floral pattern filled with gold accents, backed by a clean white glazed base bearing a red four-character maker's mark. 

The surrounding border utilizes the famous Mille Fleurs (Thousand Flowers) enamel technique. This painstaking design philosophy requires the artisan to completely cover the porcelain ground with a dense, overlapping tapestry of chrysanthemums, peonies, and lotuses, ensuring no white space remains visible.

The central figural medallion features an elegant outdoor garden scene. It employs traditional Famille Rose (Fencai) pink, mauve, and green mineral enamels to capture fine details—down to the hand-held fan, architectural bridge panels, and stylized distant mountain peaks.

Vintage Condition

Excellent vintage condition showcasing superb enamel vibrancy and structural form.

Visible Flaws: Minor age-related wear. Close inspection reveals very fine, natural factory kiln cooling lines and minuscule pinpoint glaze pits under the base ring from the original mid-century firing process. The hand-painted gold gilt along the outer rim edge exhibits minimal, faint oxidation and handling wear. Free of any post-production chips, hairline fractures, or structural cracks.
