High Tea: Copeland Spode Chinese Rose Trio
Vintage Copeland Spode Trio in the "Chinese Rose" Pattern.
A beautiful and highly collectible vintage Copeland Spode tea trio comprising a teacup, saucer, and cake plate in the iconic "Chinese Rose" pattern. Characterised by its charming country cottage style with red, pink, blue, and yellow flowers and a distinctive green edge, this pattern has been beloved by collectors for over a century.
The red backstamp on this piece places it in the pre-1970s production window, with dating evidence pointing to September 1948 based on the impressed date code. The "Chinese Rose" pattern was first registered in 1913 (Rd No. 629599) and remained in continuous production until 2007 — making early mid-century examples like this particularly sought after.
Original Intended Use: Traditional British afternoon tea service for one.
