The Empoli "Genie Bottle" is one of the most recognisable silhouettes in mid-century Italian export glass. Produced in the glassworks of Empoli, Tuscany from the 1950s through the 1970s, these decanters were exported worldwide and became a staple of retro bar carts and sideboards. The smooth cone shape — distinct from the ribbed optic styles also produced in Empoli — was designed to showcase the purity and colour of the glass itself. The tall pointed flame stopper is the most sought-after variant; many surviving examples have lost their stoppers over decades of use, making complete sets significantly more valuable.
