Master Potter: Graham Bolland - Rectangular Serving Tray
Vintage Graham Bolland hand-painted stoneware rectangular serving tray — Cape Valley landscape, made in South Africa, 2001.
A beautifully crafted slice of South African heritage by acclaimed studio ceramicist Graham Bolland of Bolland Pottery, Van Wyksdorp. This rectangular stoneware tray features an exquisite hand-painted landscape depicting a traditional Cape-style cottage nestled alongside sprawling agricultural fields under a rolling mountain range. Painted in an earth-toned palette of deep rich browns, rustic whites, muted blues, and charcoal greys, with meticulous line details tracing the cottage roof, field rows, fencing, and wild ground flora. Finished with a thick glossy protective glaze over a textured speckled clay body with a dark glazed border. Inscribed in the lower right corner: "South Africa 2001" — a dated, original piece of 21st-century regional art.
