Tableware: Susie Cooper Ceramic Pitcher

Vintage Susie Cooper "Wedding Band" Pattern Ceramic Pitcher.

A beautiful mid-century ceramic jug from the iconic "Wedding Band" (also known as Wedding Ring) pattern by Susie Cooper, characterised by concentric hand-painted pastel-coloured stripes. The pattern was first introduced in 1932 after Susie Cooper established her own independent studio at the Crown Works in Burslem.

Stamped "A Susie Cooper Production, Crown Works, Burslem, England" — the standard factory mark used from 1931 onwards. Based on the backstamp and pattern number, this piece was manufactured between 1932 and 1964.

Original Intended Use: Premium breakfast table milk pitcher or cream jug for afternoon tea service.

More Details

While larger items often featured a "Leaping Deer" logo, this text-only variation was common on smaller pieces throughout the 1932–1964 period.

The hand-painted green bands (visible in the boxed number area) belong to the "Wedding Band" (or Wedding Ring) pattern.

This iconic Art Deco design was first introduced in 1932. The hand-painted numbers in the box (e.g., "698") refer to the specific pattern number or colourway. Pattern numbers in this range were typically assigned in the 1930s.
